Well After listening to a lot of crap on other radio stations, I looked into starting my own.
Going back a few years I use to be a DJ for about 5 years at weddings and 21st and pubs knowing what music to have was easy.
Gear wise well I already had a lot of it, I am using as follows:
Pro TX180A Transmitter I watt
Phonic MX500 Mixer
Set of twin radio mic’s
PC cleaned out running Sam 2 Party DJ with 2 hard drives and about 5000 mp3s
Laptop, also running Sam 2 as a back up if needed.
Well they say tuned your radio to a clear station and then set up your transmitter to suit, well I did that 3 times. The channel may be free at your place but 2ks up the road you start picking up someone else. I ended up driving around the city to get a free one and settled on 107.5.
Music well I will play almost anything, I have filtered out all song with the four letter words. You have to know your music I got caught out with one song 11am on a Sunday morning (Oh My God), I do take request via email and txt.
I also edit a lot of music making extended mix’s or adding and removing parts, speeding them up, or adding a new beat etc.
